SNOW!!!
SNOW!!!
Fun in the SNOW!
Last night we had two fun things happen. First, our great friend Kevin came to visit and hang out with us for the week of Thanksgiving and second, it snowed here for the first time and it was incredibly beautiful! Before we went to bed there was enough snow to build a small snowman next to the front door and it kept going all night. Keenan chose to get up extra early the next morning for some reason but I was so glad that he did. Our kitchen window faces the windows of all the family apartments and as Keenan and I sat at the kitchen table eating breakfast I got to see each of the apartments light up and the kids drag chairs over to the windows to peek outside at the snow. It was the cutest thing! I could see brothers and sisters excitedly pointing to the snow and calling each of the family members to join them at the window for a look at the fun outside. At one point there were three sets of kids standing on their chairs in the windows completely unaware that there was anyone else experiencing the same beauty and excitement as they were. It was so fun to watch. Then when Craig and Kevin were up we bundled Keenan up like Randy from A Christmas Story and headed outside for some fun of our own. He loved looking at the snow from the inside, but after a few minutes of being in the cold wetness of it all he didn’t like it so much anymore. We snapped a few great pictures before he lost it for good so I am sending them on to you! This is his first real experience of snow since last year he was too little to really play or understand any of it at all. Now the snow is gone in the town but it is still on the mountain tops. On a clear day it is magnificent to see the snow caps and the blue sky background. That’s a picture in this bunch as well. It was taken from the train so it is not the clearest of the ground, but you can see the mountain and get the idea.
